Prince treated for drug overdose, report claims

A recent report has claimed that Prince was treated for drug overdose a few days before he died.

Before his death, the music icon’s plane needed to make an emergency landing due to a medical emergency. A representative told reporters that Price had the flu, and was released shortly.

A recent report by TMZ, however, claims multiple sources as saying that the artist was actually given a “save shot” by doctors to counteract opiate effects.

The report added: “We broke the story … Prince’s private jet made an emergency landing in Moline, Illinois last Friday, hours after he performed in Atlanta. At the time his reps said he was battling the flu … something we questioned because his plane was only 48 minutes from home before the unscheduled landing.”

Prince’s people reportedly asked for a private room, which the hospital did not have. “Prince and co. decided to bail. The singer was released 3 hours after arriving and flew home.”

Prince’s representatives have not yet commented on the report. An autopsy is scheduled for Friday.
