Don’t fret, Directioners: your favorite band will not split up anytime soon.
This was confirmed by member Niall Horan himself, saying that while it is true that the band will have a break, a break-up is not on the horizon.
“Ok so Lots of rumours going round. We are not splitting up, but we will be taking a well earned break at some point next year,” Horan tweeted.
“Don’t worry though, we still have lots we want to achieve! Can’t wait for you to hear all the new music we have for you and to perform some new songs as the tor [sic] continues! Love you all xx,” he added.
A report by UK tabloid The Sun reported that One Direction is soon to disband after the release of their fifth album. The article said that the break-up is for the four members–Horan, Harry Styles, Liam Payne, and Louis Tomlinson to pursue solo careers.
“The lads made the decision not to tour again at a meeting in London last weekend,” said the report, published yesterday.
The report added that the band will not launch a tour to support their upcoming fifth album, and that their last full concert will be held at Motorpoint Arena in Sheffield on October 31.
Last March, now-former member Zayn Malik quit the band to pursue personal projects, saying that he wanted to live his life like a normal teenager and to avoid the spotlight.
One Direction is currently touring North America, still promoting their successful album “Four.” Their fifth album is expected to be released this fall.
